去美国租车，请问中国的驾照办理公证还是需要办理国际驾照？

也在考虑租车事宜。我在明尼苏达，拿着中国驾照去过Avis店面问他们的职员，不需要其他公证和手续，直接可以拿车。但是个人考虑去yellow stone自驾游，在Priceline上可以预定飞机和租车套餐，相对比较划算。本着需要确认的负责态度，试着给他们的客服发了一封信询问中国驾照是否能用，结果得到如下回复（大意是需要一个国际驾照，否则租车公司可以不给你车云云，就不全盘翻译了，大家明白有的时候是需要国际驾照的就行）：

Thank you for taking the time to send us an e-mail. We understand that
you would like to know whether you can rent a car with a Chinese driving
license.

A valid International Driver's License MUST be presented at time of
rental. The driver's license must be valid throughout the entire rental
period. Rental car companies may not accept a driver's license from your
home country and can deny you rental if you do not supply an
International Driver's License.
