Question about Los Cabos, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

August would be hot, and as you said the beaches there are great, you can enjoy many water sports, swimming,snorkeling(ok,but not the best),diving(i heard its very nice, but not experienced myself),sea kayaking, water skiing, paragliding(from a boat). However, just keep in mind the water is not as warm or as calm as the caribbean side, because of the ocean current of the pacific.

as for hotels, they are a tons of them , not really cheap when they are ocean front, you can find many on the internet according to your budget.

one more note, the movie TROY had sets nearby there.
